Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 reaches its full launch today, 23 October, closing the early access period that preceded it, according to a Pure Xbox report. Activision’s own launch material lists 20 multiplayer maps on day one.

Twelve core maps and a shifting arena
The set divides into 12 core maps for 6v6, three large maps for 32v32 Ground War and four Gunfight maps for 2v2. Kill Block completes the list as an arena built for 3v3 and 10v10, with layouts that change between rounds.
Activision says Kill Block offers more than 500 possible configurations. Shipment, a name Call of Duty players know well, is not part of day one and arrives on 27 October, four days after the full launch.
This is a different milestone from the campaign early access covered earlier. Anyone who bought the game ahead of launch should confirm that the multiplayer components are installed, because campaign files alone will not open the new maps.
