Minecraft Java players can now switch on path tracing through an experimental Nvidia mod, shipped as part of RTX Remix 1.6 on 23 October. The build targets Minecraft Java 1.21.1 through Fabric and bundles a texture pack plus a showcase map built with BlockWorks.

Nvidia’s official repository lists Windows 10 or 11, an owned copy of Minecraft Java, a GeForce RTX 30 series card or newer, and driver 616.92 as the minimum. It recommends 16GB of system memory, and the installer sets up Java 21, Fabric and the Remix components itself.
This is not a Mojang upgrade, and it comes with no promise that every mod will behave. Nvidia says testing leaned on the showcase map and that other areas may throw errors or run poorly. The tool release also adds neural rendering work and ARM64 support, so gains differ by hardware, and frame generation figures do not translate into a matching lift in raw performance.
