Xbox opened Free Play Days on 22 October with six games available to try, led by Dying Light 2: Stay Human Reloaded Edition. The offer splits in two: part of the list sits behind a Game Pass subscription and part of it does not.
Which games need Game Pass this week
Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members can play Dying Light 2, Let’s Build a Zoo and Tropico 6 from 22 to 25 October. Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin are open to every Xbox player as three hour trials per game, with no subscription required.
Riders Republic carries a separate offer from 22 to 26 October, also without Game Pass, which makes the window a chance to test it after its recent updates. None of the six titles becomes permanently free.
The games sit in the Free Play Days collection inside the subscriptions tab of the Xbox store, and Xbox notes that availability and discounts differ by game and region. Achievements earned during a trial stay on the account if the player buys the game later.
